News: Huda To Seek Early Court Hearing On Dwarka Expressway-08.01.2017
Huda to seek early court hearing on Dwarka expressway
Huda will soon file a petition in the Punjab and Haryana high court for an early hearing on a plea to vacate a stay on allotment of alternative plots to oustees of Dwarka expressway, to complete the long-pending project.
The court has scheduled the next hearing in the case for March 16, 2017.
The HC had, in October, stayed issuing of the allotment letters to the oustees. Then on November 7, it directed Huda to produce all documents related to the allotment of plots to the general power of attorney (GPA) and special power of attorney (SPA) holders and the basis on which the names were included in the draw of lots.
Huda, which claimed to have submitted all the relevant documents in the court, was hoping to get relief to start work for completion of the expressway. However, Justice Surya Kant and Justice Sudip Ahluwalia on December 12 refused to entertain the plea and listed the case for March.
This ended up putting a brake on the project since the rehabilitation of oustees was essential to complete Dwarka expressway.
"We will file an early hearing petition in the court. This project is important since a large number of people are directly or indirectly connected with Dwarka expressway," said Huda administrator Yashpal Yadava. "Hopefully, the court will consider the appeal," he added.
Highlighting the need for early completion of the expressway, Achal Raina, CEO and executive director of Lotus Greens, said, "Completion of the expressway will improve connectivity between Gurgaon and Delhi and will also have a positive impact on the real estate market."
He said construction of the railway-over-bridge (RoB) at Basai is already on fast track and resolution of legal issues will help in completion of Dwarka expressway, a crucial infrastructure project.
