100 illegal structures razed at shopping complex in old Ggn
Gurgaon: In a major crackdown on encroachers, the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) on Friday removed more than 100 structures from Jail Land shopping complex in old Gurgaon.
According to the officials, the encroachers had blocked the entire corridor of the market complex with tin sheds, advertising boards and some had even constructed a wall in the corridor. Some of the shopkeepers had encroached upon the parking area in front of their shops and converted it into their personal parking. Some of them had extended their shops, while others had installed additional booths, officials said.
An HSVP team of junior engineers Anand Prakash, Lalit Hans and Sandeep Lot along with around 50 police personnel and JCB machine started the demolition drive and removed all encroachments. “This was one of the major demolition drives in recent time in the Jail complex where so many encroachments were removed in a day,” said Lot.
The market complex had many vacant plots of HSVP reserved for constriction of shop-cum-office.
“The encroachers had made temporary and permanent structures on the land,” said Lot, adding that all these structures were removed. He said the drive against the encroachments at market will continue.
On March 13, HSVP team had cleared encroachments from Sector 14 market.
