5 years on, Ramprastha residents await a road
Gurgaon: It’s been five years since the residents took the possession of their home in Ramprastha City, but lack of road connectivity is still a nightmare for them. Residents complained that the 24-metre-road connectivity to main sector road, as promised to them is yet to be built, and as a result they are compelled to use a village road which is in a dilapidated condition.
More than 1,200 families are currently living in the township and are forced to commute through the 600-meter-long stretch connecting Ramprastha City to Rama Garden in Sector 37 D.
Several complaints have been made to the authorities’ concerned and local representatives but nothing has been done to address their concern, residents said.
Pradip Rahi, RWA president of Atrium — a condominium in Ramprastha City township — said, “Since we do not have an internal sector road yet, the village road is our only link to the main sector road. We have been following up on the matter with authority since 2016 but to no avail. The government should provide some relief to the residents, who have invested their lifetime earnings to live peacefully and a decent life.”
The residents claimed that several accidents have been reported in the past due to lack of proper road and streetlights from the township. “Commuting on this stretch is nothing but a nightmare. This revenue road of Gadoli Village is partially paved with blocks. Initially it was motorable but due to heavy vehicular movement and continuous construction activities, this road is no longer motorable. Every other day, our vehicles are getting damaged because of pathetic condition of the road,” said Sachin Kumar, RWA General Secretary.
Meanwhile, the DTCP official did not respond despite repeated calls. When contacted, the GMDA official said that the construction and repairing of the revenue road is not under their purview.
