RERA complaints: Chandigarh realtors want panel
CHANDIGARH: Property consultants associations from Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula held a seminar to discuss implementation of Real Estate Regulatory Act (Rera) and issues being faced by property consultants.
According to the act, registration of property consultants is mandatory and they cannot facilitate the sale or purchase any plot, apartment or building without obtaining registration.
As per the laid norms, no promoter should advertise, market, book, sell or offer for sale, or invite persons to purchase in any manner any plot, apartment or building, in any real estate project without registering the real estate project with the Real Estate Regulatory Authority established under this Act.
Suresh Aggarwal, president, Haryana Property Association, suggested to form a joint action committee to handle the common problems relating to Rera and goods and services tax (GST).
The joint forum will take up the issues related to the real estate consultants with the authorities concerned. Kamal Gupta, general secretary, Chandigarh Property Consultants Association, suggested that in case a dealer gets himself registered under the Rera, he should also be authorised to examine the files relating to different properties to avoid frauds in the real estate business.
Kamaljit Singh Pannchi urged the members to hold regular meetings of Tricity Associations to sort out different issues.
In Chandigarh, Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) has launched a website — rera.chbonline.in — for city-based property dealers to get registered under Rera. At present, there are around 400 unregistered property consultants operating in the city.
